Mac2Unix converts text files from Mac to Unix and vice-versa. You can choose the output file type, and you can remove accents if needed (like á, î, õ, ë, ç, etc.)
*** New things in version 2.0 ***
• By default, the accent option is now ‘With accents’.
• Can now resolve ñ and Ñ, left out in version 1.5.
• Added a “Text to HTML” and “HTML to Text” feature which enables conversion of accents to and from HTML. This is great for people who want to write an HTML page and don’t want to bother about the accents. An HTML accent-tag is supposed to be like:
á where aacute means ‘a acute’ i.e ‘á’. The semi-colon may or may not be there. “HTML to Text” will decode tags with our without the semi-colon and “Text to HTML” will add a semi-colon, so that older browsers can be supported.
Note: Do NOT use the “Text to HTML” option on a non-Mac text document since accents in PC-format are not the same as in Mac format. Likewise for UNIX characters (I think!).
• Added the Stop button in the progress dialog. Now you can stop a conversion, if it gets too long or if you made a mistake.
*** Version 1.5 innovations ***
• Can now join two files so that a BinHex application can convert several split binhexed files.
• Different environment: not that small window any more. Now users can choose things from menus, in a much more open setup.
